The Northern Hemisphere season is off and running and during the next few weeks Skitracks will be bringing you a look at what is going on during opening day / week at resorts scattered around the globe..

Mt Baker Ski Area has blasted into winter with a massive amount of snow and more on the way.
The Pacific Northwest on the USA Canadian border is a renowned powder haven and Mt Baker is usually the top pick for huge snow accumulations most winters. Judging by the photos of their opening weekend it looks like being an epic winter.
Already there is a 55 inch base and a brewing storm is about to puke another 1-2 feet of snow this week.

With snow like this on the opening weekend, Mt Baker is off to a flyer and the last week of November is shaping to be a powder poachers heaven.

Located 2.5 hours north east of Seattle in Washington State, and 2 hours south of Vancouver, Canada it has long been on the radar of powder aficionados who want to submerse themselves in deep powder. Check out a few of the Baker stats below.
